I have added my internet line to my laptop computer and I want to put some security on my computer. I keep getting the ''not availible at this time'' message.
they are expieriencing some problems, just try again later and it should be ok/
My computer is infected with ''Security Toolbar 7.1'', and it is promts:
1. system is infected with trojan-spy.win32@mx; and to download antispam softwares.
2. I am having full updates of norton antivirus... but it is unable to detect this trojan
3. I can not restore my computer in back date also.
4. There is no infrmation about this toolbar even in ''add or remove programme'' in control panel menu..
I am having original windows XP home edition and a licenced copy of norton antivirus.
i dont want to spent any more to remove this ''Security toolbar 7.1''
Can anybody help me by telling the method to remove this spyware from my computer without spending money?

Security Toolbar is a variant of the trojan Zlob/Smitfraud.
How can I ''start'' my Windows Security Center? In the Windows Security Center Window it says ''The Security Center is currently unavailble because the ''Security Center'' service has not been started or was stopped. Please close this window, restart the computer (or start the ''Security Center'' Service), and then open the Security Center again.''
I obviously rebooted and it doesnt work, and my Windows Firewall says, when I click it, ''Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings.''
I need help starting, running, making these both work.
Also, only reason why I need these two to work is that they had some settings I need to use my Nintendo USB Wi-Fi, I cannot use it now for some reason and this is the same firewall I used to make the Nintendo USB Wi-Fi to work.
1) Start Button %26gt; Run %26gt; Type in ''services.msc''
Look for the Windows Security Center %26 Windows Firewall services. Make sure both is automatic and started.
2) Run a Windows update and download then install all update available.
3) Download Windows Defender and that should fix everything if the above 2 doesn't. Good luck.

The reason why you may not have gotten a response for this is because there isn't enough information.
Are you trying to play a video from your hard drive or from the Internet or from the network that your computer is hooked up to.
If it's from the Internet, what site are you trying to play from and what format... avi, mov, quicktime, realplayer, etc...
Try this.
See if you can download the video instead (right click and save target) if it is a file. If it's an HTML extent ion, your out of luck...
Once you download it to your hard drive, download a player called ''VLC''. VLC is considered the most versatile player out there... (download.com or another software share site)
Once you install VLC, just play the file.

It sounds like Vitumonde to me. This nasty bit of adware attaches itself to your Win32 and fools your os into thinking it is just another Windows server. This is missed by most security programs for this reason, and duplicates with every reboot.
To rid yourself of this, run a search for virtumundobegone, then download the killbit software. This will cause a fatal error, but you simply restart your computer and it is clean. Then, go to your device manager to system restore. Uncheck it, then delete all system restore files, as you could well start the whole process over with the next restore operation if Virtumonde is stored there. Then recheck system restore, and install a new check point. After this, go to trendmicro.com and run their Housecall scan. This should clean your pc. Good luck! Btw, you want to open Dr Watson and send the error log file to Microsoft.com. They should analyze this for you and send back a report of findings.
Seriously, the Internet is a good example of the basic effects of religion on mankind, Christianity is a good example. First, some people of questionable sanity create a worm (the bible), then first gets sent out on the local network (friends, family, community, etc.) to infect computers with weak security (lack of education, common sense, self esteem, adolecence, in distress, etc.), corrupt their operating systems (brains) which then cause them to try to infect as many computers as possible (parental influence, missionaries, baptisms, Sunday school, Soup Kitchens, etc.), all with the ultimate goal of complete domination of the Internet (the world).

Good question and I am no proponent of religion, but, based on comments by those addicted to religion, religion does apparently prevent some people from murdering their neighbors, raping their children, stealing (whatever they get their hands on) and an unlimited list of behaviors most people consider inappropriate.
In that sense, it does do some good.
But, for most, it is just a nuisance that prevents them from operating properly, and as you point out, is a virus.
