Norton is the worst thing you can install. Norton is the worst anti-virus product ever made. Norton is more of a virus and a huge resource hog. It is notoriously bloated and takes forever to perform full systems scans. The software will do more harm to your PC than good and when you try to remove it, it leaves behind over 375 traces in your registry files/folders and subsystem. You have to download their removal tool just to get it off of your system.

It is still VERY important to have anti-virus protection, but are much better off with a free anti-virus product compared to Norton.

If you want a free anti-virus, AVG, Avast! or AntiVir all are better than Norton (install only 1).

NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best and much better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (recent tests at av-comparatives.org).

Wow everyone has an opinion but it is very important to have security. I use Norton and I like it and have no problems.
norton internet security is important bcoz when u download something if it has viuse. then it will stop they only. it is important.
for every sytem it's important to install a antivirus but i'll suggest you to install Macafee 8.5 because its better than northon takes less space than northon. so it will not affect your system's speed.

ya,off course it's important,i secures ur Pc from Bugs,checks errors in drives,it has an extreme boot scanner which pick the viruses from boot record too....!
