My security center keeps giving me a message saying '' The security center is currently unavailable becuase the securtiy center service has not started or was stopped. please close this window, restart the computer ( or start the security center sevice), and then open the security center again. What does that mean eaxactly, is it disabled?

Click Start, Control Panel. Double-click Security Center. Firewall, Automatic Updates , and Virus Protection should all be 'On.' If not, click on a link (blue) under this and set these to be 'On.'

Type ''services.msc'' (without the ''s) into your run box. When Services opens, scroll down to Security Center. make sure ''Security Center'' is set to Automatic and that the service is started. You can right click it and then click Properties, if adjustment is needed.
