Hello i've defraged my computer,done the norton security check for spyware and viruses cleaned up my discs but my computer is still really slow can someone please give me some advice on what else i could do and how i go about doing it, if i could download something free to sort it out that would be alot quicker i think.

The first thing to do is launch Task Manager and see what process is draining your computer of all its resources.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click on the Processes tab.
Scroll down and look out for process that is using a lot of CPU and MEM USAGE.
The do a Google search on the process name to see what it does.

maybe there's so much document in your hard drive already.. or maybe you got small capacity of RAM.. get the higher one then.. if me, i've experience Norton before but it couldnt notice all of the virus that harm your computer.. i use Kaspersky now.. very safe and convenience too.. you can download it for free at www.mininova.com.. clean up your hard drive too.. get window washer ''webroot'' to wash your computer automaticly..
You may have already done this, but have you emptied your cookies and temp internet files? this always speeds up my pc.
