Norton 360 on Host Computer?

Now that I have successfully installed a wireless dongle home network , will the host computer take over internet security on the client computer or should I leave Norton on both . Ideally , I would like to delete it on the client as it only has a 6gb hard drive . Is it safe to proceed with this ?

Any advice much appreciated ........ jack

Hi maynard,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support team responding to your question.

Norton 360 is client software, and therefore will only protect the computers on which it is installed, even if your computer's are networked. If you purchased a 3 user license (check your invoice and packaging) you can install Norton 360 on up to three different machines.

To keep your computers protected, I would recommend that you install Norton 360 on the other computers on your network as well. You should then configure the Norton Personal Firewall feature in Norton 360 to allow all of your networked computers to communicate and share files, etc.

Thanks,

Mike

If you're worried about it, remove it. I don't like Norton anyway. It's created by Symantec and it's actually spyware.

Keep in mind that everyone of these things is either free of charge or open source. When you're done, be sure to go to Windows Update and apply ALL of the patches.
